The Saga of Darren Shan is a 12 volume series, set in four trilogies and has been written primarily for young adults by Darren Shan and features the struggles of a boy who has become involved in the world of vampires. As of October 2008, the books have been published in 37 countries and 30 languages around the world. There is also a film based on the first 3 books (Vampire Blood Trilogy or Cirque de Freak) currently in production by Universal Studios.

The Saga of Darren Shan follows the story of Darren Shgan himself, a normal human boy who becomes the assistant and half-vampire of the Vampire Larten Crepsley.
